Party with a Purpose

It's time to wake up and get into action! Those of us who love God must all work together for the sake of our children and our children's children.

And we can even do it through creative ways like hosting a party, mentioned later in this post.

We are in a battle to save the lives of babies, the reproductive future of our children, God's plan for marriage and the family, and America's freedoms.

Why would you not get involved right now in choosing government leaders?

• You are frustrated with the system?
• You are too overwhelmed with your own personal life and family?
• You are confused by all the mixed messages?
• You have a dislike for politics?
• You feel an aversion to a personality?
• You don't feel it will make a difference?
• You don't feel you have the time?

I encourage you to remember this: When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. Prov. 29:2

We must push past obstacles that would keep us from engaging in Jesus' Name for such a time as this.

As we do, we will be showing our children how to do the same and impacting their future and the future of their children.

I have three rich resources for you today that are so important for our times. Please take the time to press in prayerfully.

1. AN INCREDIBLE RESOURCE FOR YOU

MyFaithVotes.org  is a one-stop shop that makes it easy for Christian voters to be educated, informed, prepared, and ready to go to the polls.

Here are a few of the many tools the MyFaithVotes.org website offers:

• Find info about upcoming elections and where you can vote
• Use links to register to vote
• Check your registration, receive a text voting reminder, order an absentee ballot, see your ballot ahead of time - who is on it, what they stand for - and mark your sample ballot to take to the polls with you, and more. 
• Find articles about upcoming bills in Congress you need to be aware of
• Follow simple instructions to compose an email to one of your elected representatives and send it with one click
• Get yourself in a biblical mindset by listening to Bible-based messages on topics in the public square (i.e. Voddie Baucham on Justice, and Abby Johnson on Abortion)
• Participate in a simple campaign called *Write Now to influence Christians who aren’t currently participating in important elections. Engaged Christians from all 50 states can write to and pray for disengaged Christians in the key swing states, encouraging them to vote. These disengaged Christians are identified as already registered, pro-life and pro-traditional family, but do not vote consistently. Through these letters, you can encourage them to vote for their biblical values, and prior campaigns have shown a 57% increase in the number of Christians who choose to vote. This non-partisan effort is not political; it is biblical.

3. PRAY FOR TONIGHT'S PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

8 Prayers for Truth in the Presidential Debates - Intercessors For America have released the following excellent prayer points, written by Jamie Rohrbaugh.

As we agree in prayer with thousands across our nation, truth will be revealed.

After you pray, click "I prayed" so we know how many are agreeing in prayer. As I write this, I see that 3,741 people have agreed in prayer.

Most of us have felt helpless at times, wondering what we can do to help turn things around in our nation. In short, we have some concrete things to do:

• Prepare to vote. 
• Participate in the *Write Now Campaign - give an hour of your time and a few stamps...it makes a difference
• Host a Write Now party - Invite friends and make it a fun event! Better yet, let your older kids host a party and have them write the letters to people to encourage biblical-value voting! 
• Agree with thousands of other Christians in prayers for the debate tonight.

 *Write Now is a campaign to encourage hundreds of thousands of Christians in key swing states who are registered voters, pro-life, pro-traditional family, who either don’t vote, or are inconsistent in doing so. If you’d like to help encourage them to vote, click here to receive a free digital packet with complete, easy-to-follow information (with current names and addresses), including a letter they have already written for you. You will simply supply the printing of the letter, envelope, and stamp, along with a prayer for the recipient. You will only use your first name and last initial for the return address. Your privacy is of utmost importance. 

So, get into action! I told my friend Pat G. about the Write Now campaign and she signed up that week to send letters to 50 inactive Christian voters.

What will you do?

P.S. Who doesn't like a party? Host a Write Now party - Invite friends and make it a fun event, or let your older kids host a party and have them write the letters to make an impact on the future of our nation. (Do you think if you were a disengaged voter and received a letter from a youth encouraging you to vote, that you would be more inclined to do it?)
